Forget the 401K. These days, prepping for the future is all about looksmaxxing, lifemaxxing, and biohacking. Wanting to live forever isn’t a new phenomenon. Stories about the search for the fountain of youth have been around for thousands of years.
The difference? Now we don’t need a fountain. We’ve got tech to do it for us.
From SEED, a brand that’s pioneering microbiome science, to IM8, David Beckham’s biotech brand created to “push the boundaries of what’s possible in health, helping people live longer, healthier lives,” the opportunities are endless. As long as you have a bank account that’s equally endless and the patience to weed through the gimmicks and research to find out what you actually need.
It’s exhausting.
So what’s really working in the wellness space? How can you extend your lifespan and your quality-of-life span?
Here’s What Biohacking Misses

You can take pills, drink smoothies, and inject peptides all day long, but real longevity comes from within. Dr. Mark Hyman, a licensed physician who treats the root causes of disease with functional medicine, believes “longevity comes down to a small handful of daily choices, repeated for decades.”
In an episode of his podcast, Dr. Hyman shares: “After age 30, you lose as much as 5% of your muscle mass per decade. Most men will lose 30% of their muscle mass in their lifetime. That's a lot. But muscle is the organ of longevity. It's the currency of longevity.” He tells listeners, “Those with lean muscle tend to live longer. Having and using muscle is one of the most effective ways to slow the whole aging process.” You can’t get that in a smoothie.
Better Than Looksmaxxing
In his book, Young Forever, Dr. Hyman makes this bold claim: “I plan to live to be 120, maybe even 180, in good health, savoring the miraculous gift of this life every day.” Are you on track to say the same?

Most of the supplements you’ll find online come with a 30-day guarantee. It’s easy to try a $200-300 investment that claims to help you feel better and live longer, but we know real results take much longer than 30 days.
Instead of chasing the newest trend, choose a lane and stick with it for a while. Health, like most things in life worth having, takes commitment, consistency, and effort.

Pilates was created more than 100 years ago, and millions worldwide practice it for its many benefits. It builds strength, mobility, and balance; improves posture; and reduces the risk of falls—important for your 20s and your 120s.
While you should change up your workouts occasionally to help your body adapt to new stimuli, the goal is to move better, move often, and move more.
Sign up for a Pilates class at Enhancewell Collective and work your way to longevity!
Oh, and maybe don’t actually forget about the 401K! If your consistency works, you’ll still need that bank account when you turn 120!
