Life's busy. Between work, errands, and friends and family, finding time for exercise can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. But multitasking is so hot right now, and we've got some sneaky tactics to help you squeeze in a workout during working hours. (Don't worry, we won't tell your boss.)
Desk jockey workout
You don't need a gym membership to get your heart pumping. Your office could be your personal training ground. Ditch that boring office chair for an exercise ball. It's a subtle way to engage your core, improve your balance, and burn calories while you sit. We'd be remiss if we didn't warn you about the potential dangers of exercise balls. If it pops or you lose your balance and fall off, there's a risk of injury.

Can't swing an exercise ball? No problem. Standing desks are all the rage for a reason. Combat that dreaded sedentary slump with a hybrid sitting/standing desk.
Stretch it out
Even a few minutes of stretching can work wonders. Try a quick desk yoga session or stand up and do some arm circles and leg swings.
Here are a few desk yoga poses to try:
- Chair or standing pigeon
- Desk chaturanga
- Seated spinal twist
- Seated cat-cow
A 2-5 minute stretch session every hour can help reduce stiffness and tension and improve joint fluid secretions and posture. Your body will thank you, and your good example might even influence some of your coworkers!
Make ab training a core part of your work day
Want a challenge? Try desk planks. Lean on your forearms, keep your body in a straight line from head to heels, and hold. It's harder than it looks and a fantastic way to strengthen your core.
Say no to princess parking

Finding a parking spot close to the office is kind of a flex. But if you really want to flex your muscles, park a little further away and turn that walk into a mini-workout. You'll arrive at work feeling refreshed and ready to conquer the day.
Lunchtime liberation
Lunch breaks aren't just for eating. Take a brisk walk, find a nearby park for a quick workout, or even book a private training session. Yes, you read that right! A quick lunch break workout can boost your energy and help you focus for the rest of the day.
Enhancewell Fitness's team of trainers offers personalized workouts at all hours of the day. Sign up for a private session and maximize your lunch hour.
Small steps can lead to big results, so start by incorporating one or two of these tips into your routine and gradually increase your activity level. Consistency is key!
